Cellini's Amahl

This male is the total package…incredible lineage, effortless movement, showring presence, beautiful fiber and coverage, and eye appeal. Amahl’s lineage reads like the llama’s Who’s Who of great producers. His sire is the great Tuna Catcher, now owned by Mark Smith Farms. Tuna Catcher has made so many champions with eye-popping color. Amahl’s dam, Cellini, is out of Federale, an El Fuerte son, and Cellini’s dam, Celestyna, is out of Silverspirit. Cellini was one of the top selling females purchased by the Gerkens of Hard Rock Llama Company at the Co-Rect Llama Round-Up sale. Cellini was the Pierce’s most winning female with championship titles in ALSA shows as well as placing in the top 5 in a futurity. With the Gerkens, she recently won Grand under all 4 judges at the Grand Slam Event, received Reserve Grand at the 2005 Nationals, and then topped off the 2006 season with a Grand Champion Heavy Wool female at Nationals. All of Amahl’s lineage has a strong successful breeding and showing history.

Amahl is another one of those llamas that has won our hearts with his willing disposition and gentle nature. He has gone for a run in the mountains with Celia, hiked the steep roads, helped with PR for our farm, and has been a joy to just hang around with. Amahl is quite willing to walk up the deck steps off lead to check the grain tubs for a snack, but when his time is up, you can just put your arm around him and walk him by the neck back to the boys’ paddock. Even though he is a breeding male, he is not an overly aggressive breeder, and, he and our other stud, Kinnick, have an understanding about how they can co-exist peacefully. We couldn’t ask for a better stud or companion.

You could load a tray of wine glasses on Amahl’s back and still have something to drink after taking him for a stroll because Amahl moves so smoothly and effortlessly. Standing proudly and straight as an arrow, Amahl has what it takes to get noticed in the showring. So far, Amahl has garnered many accolades which include a Top Ten at Nationals; Register of Merit (ROM); Halter Champion; and top placements in the performance ring.

While taking a break from the showring, Amahl has proven himself with breeding some top-notch females, and one of them is the best cria we have ever produced! They all have stellar conformation, pleasant dispositions, and loads of style. We are extremely pleased with what he has produced so far…if you would like a little bit of what Amahl has to offer, check out his offspring for sale, or ask us about bringing your female for a date at Meadow Dance Farm!
